米エレクトロニック・アーツ(EA)社とフォックス・インタラクティブ社は7月30日(米国時間)、人気ゲームシリーズ『エイリアンvs.プレデター』の最新作、『エイリアンvs.プレデター：エクスティンクション』(Aliens versus Predator Extinction)を出荷開始したと発表した。

1986年の「Aliens」（邦題 エイリアン2），そして1987年の「Predator」（邦題 プレデター）という，80年代後半のハリウッドを彩る“SFアクション映画の悪役”は，1993年にコミックで初めて本格的に競演。その後も小説やゲーム，劇場で何度も対決してきた。
